KeePass Free Password Vault Updated To Version 1.1.7.92 – Now With More BlackBerry Specific Controls

Tom just let me know about this significant update to KeePass for BlackBerry. In case you don’t know KeePass is a free open source password vault for your BlackBerry. Originally it was just ported to the BlackBerry from their J2ME version. The new user interface and synchronization were written from scratch to take advantage of BlackBerry-unique features. It also allows you to synchronize your information with a desktop version of KeePass.

Features:

* Database, group and entry creation, deletion and modification.
* BlackBerry-specific user interface for easy/familiar navigation.
* Find-As-You-Type entry search
* 2-Way Desktop Manager Synchronization Add-In.
* Fully enabled for trackball operation as well as trackwheel.
* Cut and paste is available for entry details.
* “ActiveText” creates links from URLs, email address, etc.

  1. Slight correction — the “New in This Version” list is actually the feature list for the application that has been implemented for several versions. From the change log, the latest changes are:

    — KeePassBB v 1.0 – Build 1.1.792 – Released September 5 2008

    * Fixed [ 2095413 ] Restore process isn’t working
    * Fixed [ 2095449 ] Inappropriate “Not signed with the proper key” msg

  2. Question: I’m running version 1.0.602, but my version has 2-way sync via a DM add-in. In keeping with the philosophy of not fixing what isn’t broken, I’m hesitant to upgrade unless there really is something in this newer version that improved over my version. Are these changes you’re talking about changes that were implemented after version 1.0.602?
