As I predicted BlackBerry is going the virtual route for their upcoming BlackBerry Jam conference after cancelling BlackBerry Jam Europe. They announced the upcoming December 4th virtual conference will focus on Android and the BlackBerry Runtime for Android in OS 10.2.1. The event is intended to cover these “highly requested features” by developers including:
- Android JNI support for developers wishing to distribute their apps in the BlackBerry® World™ storefront
- Support for a greater range of ported Android applications
- Easier app compatibility testing by loading the APK onto a BlackBerry 10 device
- Support that the BlackBerry World storefront provides for giving your app visibility with paying customers
