Verizon is currently working on some deals for their FIOS service that might spill over into the mobile space. Verizon was showing off a new on demand experience for FIOS subscribers that will let users purchase and rent videos to watch them on up to 5 different computers and mobile devices. You could pick up those videos from your TV box or through Verizon’s website.
This new app is coming sometime in the fourth quarter of 2010 and will support the BlackBerry Storm and a couple of non-BlackBerry devices at launch. This is kind of a cool idea and I am liking how content providers have realized that they need to extend their reach to mobile devices and the BlackBerry.
