Last night I had the chance to play with a Verizon and a Sprint BlackBerry Tour again at a press event. Sadly I had a senior moment and forgot my camera at home. 🙁
The Tour has already been reviewed a few times already but I know many of you are chomping on the bit to get more information. Those 8830s and 8330s are starting to show their age and you want something hot and new. I can promise you that the Tour delivers. It has the super sharp screen like the Bold & 8900 Curve and weighs about the same as the 8900. The keyboard is a little thinner than the Bold which makes it slightly harder to type but it is better than the 8330.
In essence the Tour is a mashup of the 8900 Curve and the Bold a sort of evolution of both. The only real compromise is Wi-Fi which is annoying. The OS at the show seemed pretty solid and the device is just plain sexy. It will not wow you with new features but it just improves upon the whole BlackBerry experience especially for those of you who have been holding out on a CDMA QWERTY BlackBerry.

No Wi-fi! I have been waiting for this phone but forget it. Without Wi-fi, it’s DOA. Verizon Wireless has good coverage, beyond that I can’t get excited about any of their offerings. Disappointing.
