Jacob let me know that US Cellular is pushing out MySpace 1.5.1 with a couple small enhancements. Other carriers still seem to be getting version 1.5.0.12 but 1.5.1 is coming soon. I like how RIM is separating the language downloads so that the install footprint is smaller.
What is new in this version:
- Friends Status/Mood retrieval
- Now you can retrieve up to 25 friends status/moods
- Individual Language Download
- Choose what language to download the application and save memory space on your smartphone
- More languages supported
- Brazilian & EU Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese & Russian
Any new customers activated with BlackBerry service at U.S.Cellular will automatically be pushed down the MySpace icon which will be running on Version 1.5.1. Existing customers who use MySpace and would like to upgrade to the new version to enjoy the improved features will have (3) options:
- Point your BlackBerry browser to mobile.blackberry.com
- Go to the IM & Social Networking section
- Once in this section scroll down to the MySpace application and select download
- Using the BlackBerry browser go to www.myspace.com
- Customers may also use the “Check for Updates” feature which was introduced with the 1.5 upgrade earlier this year.

Smart idea separating the languages.
Hope they do more of that.
