Tideberry: Get Tide Information From Over 3,000 US Locations

tideberry When I lived in San Diego I used to call the local surf hotline every Sunday to find the current surf and tide conditions. Its useful for water sports, fishing, and sailing. Tashanna let me know that there is a new BlackBerry application called Tideberry that has started to bring that data to your BlackBerry. It has a database of over 3,000 tidal stations on the U.S. coast including Alaska and Hawaii. You can also save 10 locations as your favorites for easy access.

It claims to not need an internet connection so I am not sure if the information is live or historical. On the other hand they have a free 7 day trial (OTA trial link | Desktop trial link) so I highly recommend checking that out before you buy. If you do like it you can pick it up in the store for $9.99 and please let me know what you think!

From the description:

Finally, a tide application for your Blackberry! Tideberry will predict and display in real-time tide data for over 3,000 coastal locations in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii. No internet or network connection required. Tideberry provides tidal flow info in an easy to use graphical format showing daily high and low tides, with a red arrow marking the current time. The graphical format allows you to view all of the tide information you need at a glance, without having to wade through tables. If you want a more traditional tide table, that information is provided as well. Advanced features include the ability to choose any date (future or past); a search function that makes it easy to find any station; and a favorites list that will allow you to save up to 10 stations for quick and easy recall. Try it free for 7 days!

Features:

  • 3,000+ tidal stations along the US coast including Alaska and Hawaii
  • No internet or network connection required
  • Save up to 10 favorite locations for quick recall
  • Easy to read Tide graph and tide table displays

  1. There are two NOAA tide stations in Guam, USA:
    #1631428 in Pago Bay 13° 25.7′ N; 144° 47.8′ E and
    #1630000 in Apra Harbor 13° 26.5′ N; 144° 39.2′ E
Is there any way that I could get tide predictions through TideBerry?

    Thanks,

    Jason
