When I mentioned BBLight adding free Vibrate+Ring functionality yesterday quite a few readers were confused about how to set it up. Tateu offered some advice on how to set it up since it is not straight forward so I thought I would share…
First download and install BBLight OTA at:
http://www.tateu.net/software/dl.php?f=bblight
- Click on the profile icon on your homescreen and select advanced
- Select your active device profile to edit it
- In there you will find a new entry for BBLight
- Select the BBLight option and set it to Vibrate and repeat
- Also set Notification to None and # of vibrations to 1
- Click back and select the Phone setting in the list
- Set your phone settings to Tone only
- Click back and save and go back to your homescreen
- Open the BBLight application and set “Vibration for Phone Calls to something other than 1
That is it!
Note: To turn off simultaneous vibration and ringing for a specific profile:
- In that device Profile, set BBlight to None
- In that device Profile, set Phone to None or Tone Only
To completely disable simultaneous vibration and ringing:
- In the BBlight application, set “Vibration for Phone Calls” to 0.
- And you can do the following but don’t really need to – In your active device Profile, set BBlight to None

…Or just use BuzzMe. There’s nothing to configure.

BuzzMe also has zero ability to customize. With BBLight you can enable it/disable it for whatever profile you want, and even specify how it vibrates (length of each vibration and time between each vibration in milliseconds)… for the average user I guess BuzzMe works, but if you want total control get BBLight.

Why is this better than Buzzme?
