Luis let me know that Din over at CrackBerry Forums spotted OS 4.6.1.168 released by A1 in Austria. It will load on other carrier devices if you delete the vendor.alx file before.

Let us know what you find in the new OS versions in the comments below. Keep the tips coming!
NOTE: This is an official release so you need to delete the vendor.alx file if you want to use it on another carrier 8900 device. The vendor.alx file is found in
C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
Now I am off for some Saturday night drinking… 🙂 Cheers!

I have loaded the software this morning on my TMO 8900 and so far it seems to be working like a champ.

I have a friend who got a T-Mo 8900 from BestBuy and her battery only lasts a few hours in standby. Is this a battery issue, an OS issue which could be fixed, or a problem in general with the 8900?

My 8900 last about 2 days before I need to charge it again. I have yet to upload the new OS…. I have a baby boy that just started walking, and let’s just say, everything is beginning to get “misplaced or put in the trash”. I’m off to by a new USB cable tomorrow. I’ll let u know how it works on my Tmo 8900.
