Recently a friend of mines Gmail account was compromised due to his weak password. I always yelled at him for having a easy to guess password but he learned the hard way one day when all of his friends asked him why he sent them spam asking them to buy Viagra. The problem was that the person who hacked his Gmail account changed the password right after so my friend could no longer access his Gmail account and fix the problem. I had something similar happen to my wife with Hotmail awhile back but they offer almost no way to recover your password on a free account. Google at least offers a form to contact support and try to get your account back. Sadly most of these free services do not have a phone number you can call for help so a contact form is the best I have seen.
So if you have lost access to your Gmail account you can try to contact Gmail support by heading over to the link below and filling out your information. The form is pretty thorough so you may have to dig to the back of you mind to try to remember some of the answers.

Let us know if it works for you! If you have not already done so make sure to secure your Webmail account with a strong password and don’t use that password anywhere else! For example, If you use the same password for your forums/blog/shopping account and that site gets hacked the hacker now has access to your email and password…

My gmail account is turning into the most annoying thing ever!
About once a week I lose access to my 3 accounts (which all have different passwords) and I need to go through the whole process of resetting my passwords. Gmail needs to fix whatever it is causing this. I can’t be the only one, and my accounts are not being accessed by anyone else. So it must be a gmail glitch.
Google mail people – fix this or I will soon start hating you.
