I2 announced in a Press Release their newest beta service, MyGlobalTalk. MyGlobalTalk is a VoIP application that will let you call anyone you want anywhere in the world with low rates! Now when I first saw this, I thought “Another interesting idea that I won’t be able to test thanks to Americas Number 1 Feature Blocker, Verizon Wireless!” But according to the Press Release this will not be an issue. Say What?
In an industry “first”, MyGlobalTalk™ places Internet telephony in the hands of every cell phone user independent of wireless carrier technology, handset manufacturer, or the type of wireless carrier voice/data plan involved. In addition, MyGlobalTalk™ is fully functional without local access to the Internet or proximity to an Internet “hotspot”. Users also need not wait for the availability of a dual-mode WiFi phone because MyGlobalTalk™ provides the benefits of a dual-mode phone at a fraction of the cost using the customer’s existing mobile handset. Find out how –
SeeMyGlobalTalk™ Bridge and Global Call Forwarding.
Also see – How Do I install MyGlobalTalk™?MyGlobalTalk™ itself is a patent-pending proprietary software application developed by i2Telecom International, Inc., a leader in innovative VOIP products and services. It is a new class of mobile application intended to run on the user’s cell phone and automatically route calls over i2Telecom’s VOIP network.
Your MyGlobalTalk™ phone number follows you around the world – whether you carry the cell phone with you or you forward your MyGlobalTalk™ number to any other number in the world! See Global Call Forwarding.
And the best part is . . . it’s so ridiculously inexpensive! Imagine calling around the world, as often as you wish, for as low a price as 2 cents per minute!
So this is definitely something that I will be looking into and I will report back and let you all know what I find out! But for now, head on over to www.MyGlobalTalk.com and have a look around. This promises to be a great service.

It’s not true VOIP. I called the sales department of MyGlobalTalk and they confirmed that it would use cellphone minutes. Essentially it’s like any other calling card but with a blackberry application that dials the calling card number automatically and transparently.

This service is the same as regular calling cards but with many technical problems. Customer support is just a joke.
