Just got an anonymous tip from an anonymous reader (Lets call him Mr J). They found OS 4.5.0.55 online for the 8320. The 8320 has been having a rough time with OS releases but hopefully this latest version will work out.
One example of where 4.5.0.55 can be found is at this link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/132732724/8320AllLang_PBr4.5.0_rel81_PL2.7.0.68_A4.5.0.55.exe.html
NOTE: Do not install this software if you do not know what you are doing. It may make your BlackBerry FUBAR or just plain angry.

Hopefully this fixes the UMA and hotspot@home issues. I’ve burnt up 2 sim cards because of the issues with .37. And if nobody else has figured it out yet, when restoring back to 4.22, it won’t restore your address book.

I checked the properties under Details and verified that it’s .55

I hope and pray this version fixes my bb messenger issues. Everytime I soft reset my phone, I lose all my bb messenger contacts. It’ll be hours before I can go home and upgrade. If anyone does ugrade and were having the same bb messenger issues, test it out and let me know if their are still problems or not.

Is there a link for the 8310? I tried downloading it from a1.net but the link seems to be down half the time.

Compared to .52, there aren’t any significant changes that I see.

Randy, and everyone else who tried this: Did you get your home screen folder icons back? I previously had .52 which removed the icons for the home screen folders. All were just yellow. I hoped after this was discovered that a future version would fix this, but .55 does not. I still can’t edit the plain yellow folder for anything unique. Did anyone get this issue solved with .55?

As said above: Do not install this software if you do not know what you are doing. It may make your BlackBerry FUBAR or just plain angry.
Really, if you don’t know what you’re doing (since you’re asking for directions to DOWNLOAD the OS), don’t do this.

For some reason OS 4.5.055 does not show up in my Application Loader of my Desktop Manager 4.5.0.15. What Desktop Manager do I need to run this?

I recently went to Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs and deleted all my previously installed Device Software. They each hang around on your system, so if you are going to use a new one, just uninstall all of these, then install the new one, then run your Desktop Manager. I used DM 4.5 and installed fine.
