This one packs in more features into their product but you pay $19.95/month for the pleasure of using it. I just met with them at the Pepcom convention yesterday in Manhattan and the product looks interesting. It seems to be available for AT&T and T-Mobile on the 8300 & 8800 devices with GPS. No plans for CDMA. They did mention that they are working on a cheaper plan with less features. Still even $10 a month is a bit high for what they are offering. As a conciliation prize you do get to monitor 3 phones for the $19.95 price tag.
I do like the feature set. Its perfect for the overprotective parent. I want to meet the guy who created the teen speed trap feature. Some of the free BlackBerry location monitoring tools could learn a few things from FindWhere.
Check it out at www.findwhere.com
Features:
Speed Alerts – Great for teen or new drivers, receive a notification by email or text if your teen is driving beyond the limit that you set (or they are in a car that their friends are driving). You’ll know where, when and how fast!
No Go/Safe Zones – Also known as geo-fences, you set specified areas on a map (don’t need to know exact address) and you can set up alerts and be notified exactly when and where.
Panic Button – We don’t like to prepare for the worst but should an emergency situation occur and help is needed a panic button can be set up on your phone to alert specified recipients when assistance is needed. Great for elderly parents or additional safety for kids. (not available with iFind2000 and iFind3000 devices)
Location History – You don’t have to check location all day, everyday. Location history is available so you can see where your phone or device has been.
Auto Locate – Your location is automatically updated, no manual input needed.
Roaming Distinction – Eliminate unnecessary data charges when you are outside of your network or roaming
Motion Detection – Optimize your battery life by postponing the delivery of your location until you are on the move again.
Frequency Settings – Control how often your location information is delivered.
Always Locate – Even if GPS fails, the location of your mobile devices can still be known.

Thanks for your feedback, Ronen. Your comments are very valuable to us. As well as working toward a reduced price plan for those that don’t need or want all of those advanced features, we are also working toward incorporating the iPhone into our pool of supported mobile phones.

I have used findwhere’s service before and it does not work reliably. Their service people were rude and completely unhelpful. It was also IMPOSSIBLE to get them to stop charging my credit card. Finally the bank just cancelled that credit card and issued another one to get them to stop billing me for a service that flat out DID NOT WORK! Buyer beware.

DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM! IT DOES NOT WORK! UNLESS YOU PLACE THE DEVICE ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR OR DASHBOARD (MOST OF US WANT IT IN A PLACE THAT IT CAN’T BE DETECTED), IT WILL NOT TRACK THE LOCATION. THE “SUPPORT” IS A JOKE. ALL THEY TELL YOU IS TO MOVE IT TO ANOTHER LOCATION, THERE IS TO MUCH METAL AROUND IT. IF THE UNIT CAN’T BE AROUND METAL, THEN WHY DID IT COME WITH A BRACKET THAT HAS HEAVY DUTY MAGNETS TO HOLD IT UNDER THE CAR?

huh, I have one in my vehicle right now; moved from the back of a jeep, to the back of an explorer (in tire jack space), to finally rest in the trunk of my acura. I believe all gps systems use some sort of sms to report its position.. so if your cell phone wouldnt get signal, neither will your tracker. very happy with my tracker and the fw online interface – birds eye is awesome!

Same problems here. This system is a JOKE. The findwhere website is slow slow slow and requires you use ie. Also the device NEVER seems to be able to be trackable! The findwhere company is also extremely shitty. They won’t help and refuse to believe anything is wrong. But they are happy continuing to charge every month for their service that flat out does not work.

DO NOT BUY THIS! Findwhere is a scam. This does NOT work and the company wouldn’t stop charging my credit card. It was so bad I had to have my credit card company CANCEL MY CARD and issue me a new one.
I really hope this company goes out of business soon so they will stop bending people over. BUYER BEWARE!

bought one of these a few months ago and had the same experience i am reading about above. it doesn’t work and findwhere will do nothing except take your money every month until you report them to your credit card company. i wish i had seen this website before i bought one. findwhere is the perfect definition of scam artists.
