Wireless18 has been around for quite awhile offering a golf scorecard application for BlackBerry. In a previous post about mScorecard I had mentioned that there was a free application, Wireless18, that does a pretty good job of scoring your golf games.
Wireless18 does not have the GPS features of mScorecard but it has some other interesting features that make it a strong contender. It allows you to download hundreds of golf courses directly to your phone so quite a bit of info is entered in automatically. Just like mScorecard it also keeps track of your personal records on the Wireless18 website. Pretty cool for a free app.
You can download Wireless18 either OTA or using the desktop manager:
OTA Link: www.wireless18.com/wap (Both WAP & BES Versions)
Desktop Link: www.wireless18.com
Features in Wireless18:
Download onto your phone details for any course in the world.
Score for up to 4 players gross, nett, par & points with our easy to use interface whilst displaying current hole details like par, SI and distance.
Track your statistics such as putts taken, fairways and greens hit, sand saves and Left or right rough tendency
Sidegames such as stableford, nassau, matchplay & skins are automatically scored for you with results listed hole by hole.
Store unlimited rounds. Store unlimited playing partners. All details backed up nightly.
Handicaps worked out against official standards (USGA, EGA, CONGU, etc).
Analyse your rounds with our statistic tools. Determine the strong and weak points of your game.

Certainly a nice application, but I never managed to get the WAP connection to work.

Awesome application – got it installed it, tried to download a course on the first menu….and now my phone has crashed!
It is an out of the box Blackberry 8900 on Rogers (Canada) – so I really can’t believe it is anything to do with the phone!
