Our good friends at MiBlackBerry.com brought up an old SyncML solution, AOL Sync, for BlackBerry devices. They found a new knowledge base article on BlackBerry.com that was created today about AOL Sync. Since I do not have an AOL account (On principle) I was curious if any BlackBerry users are using AOL Sync as a semi-BES solution for synchronizing their contacts and calendar to their BlackBerry OTA. This seems like a good way to get auto calendar synchronization but I really wish it was offered by somebody other than AOL. This would be a killer application if Google decided to offer it for Gmail or Yahoo would offer it for their mail services. I remember hearing about the service in late 2006 and would be interested in seeing if the solution is still relevant now. Check out AOL Sync at this link.
