The BlackBerry Bold 9780 refresh of the original 9700 is coming soon to many carriers. Many users are wondering when this upgrade will finally drop since we have been seeing leaked devices for months now. The team at TheBerryFix received a tip that Rogers will be launching the BlackBerry Bold 9780 refresh on October 27th. The device is set to cost $148.99 with a 3 year contract.
As a reminder this refreshed BlackBerry Bold 9780 really just adds 512MB of RAM along with a few other minor changes. It will also ship with BlackBerry 6 which many 9700 users are waiting for. My only issue with this refresh is that it will give carriers an incentive to delay releasing a BlackBerry 6 update for the original BlackBerry Bold 9700 to not cannibalize 9780 sales.
