AT&T to Start Rolling Out 4G LTE in Mid-2011

AT&T logo AT&T finally woke up and smelled the LTE coffee. After realizing that Verizon will have an LTE network up by the end of the year AT&T announced their plans. They plan on having a 4G LTE network covering 70-75 million people by the end of 2011. That will all start with a rollout beginning in mid 2011 starting with Dallas.

I cannot wait for LTE to become a reality since we are starting to reach the limits of what 3G speeds can swallow in web consumption. Verizon and AT&T have a pretty decent 3G network but the sub 1mbps speeds leave many applications wanting.

I doubt we will be seeing LTE BlackBerrys coming anytime soon but when they do Verizon and Sprint users can rejoice because they will finally get simultaneous voice and data.
