T-Mobile Launches HSPA+ webConnect Rocket USB Modem with New Service Plans

T-Mobile Rocket T-Mobile just announced that starting March 14th they will be selling their first HSPA+ webConnect Rocket USB Modem. While HSPA+ is nice and all what I found more interesting is that T-Mobile is now offering some new service plans for USB data cards. They are offering some serious discounts if you do not sign a 2 year contract with an Even More Plus webConnect data plan.

Even More webConnect data plan (two year contract):

  • $59.99/mo. for 5GB per month ($0.20/MB overage)
  • $29.99/mo. for 200MB per month ($0.20/MB overage)

Even More Plus webConnect data plan (no annual contract):

  • $49.99/mo. for 5GB per month ($0.20/MB overage)
  • $19.99/mo. for 200MB per month ($0.20/MB overage)

Unlimited nationwide T-Mobile HotSpot access is included in both plans and doesn’t count toward monthly data usage.

The Rocket modem will cost $99 with a 2 year contract but there is no word on how much it will cost without a 2 year contract for the Even More Plus plan. Still $49.99 for 5GB is a pretty good deal if the Rocket comes out at an affordable price like $150.

I wanted to ask. Does anybody have both a BlackBerry and a wireless data card or do you just tether?
