TripIt Adds Groups Feature To See Where Coworkers Are

Tripit-groups TripIt is a slick service that simplifies your itineraries and trip planning information. They released a BlackBerry app not to long ago and I have had a chance to try it out a few times already. The app gives you easy access to your itineraries along with maps and directions. It will even integrate with your calendar so your details are automatically placed there. You can read more about the free app at this link or download it at this link.

They have just announced a new feature called Groups that I find very interesting. Groups was created to make it easy for users to view and share travel plans throughout your whole company.  This includes coordinating schedules, sharing travel resources, and asking questions.

Right now this feature is not available in the BlackBerry app but it would be really cool to be able to see where coworkers are located next to you. It would make a great use case for RIM’s upcoming Location Service API. I cannot wait for RIM to release this Location Service since I think many apps will benefit from it like LinkedIn, Twitter, & even Facebook. What do you think?
