Odesys Chess Lets You Play Online With FICS Client Built In

Odesys-chess Tashanna let us know about Odesys Chess via PocketBerry which looks really innovative. I used to be a big fan of Bplay’s Medieval Chess II multiplayer games but the game is no longer free and on newer devices the screen is really small. With Odesys Chess they have baked in some serious multiplayer functionality in a creative way. Instead of creating a BlackBerry only multiplayer world they made the app a client for FICS (Free Internet Chess Server) games.

I had never heard of FICS before but I played one game and I was pretty impressed. I did not get to finish the game since I went into the subway but I was getting my… King handed to me. Odesys Chess is pretty reasonably priced at $4.99 in the store but sadly there is no free trial.
