More news came out of RIM today about their China Mobile distribution deal. RIM is planning on supporting/releasing TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE devices which will let BlackBerry’s run on China’s 3G network. They also specifically called out that BIS is coming for small to medium sized businesses and professional customers. I guess non-professional customers wont get BIS…
RIM goes on patting themselves on the back for the abysmal job they have been doing so far in China but hopefully this is the start of a whole new BlackBerry user base. These also marks the first time I have heard LTE technology mentioned in a RIM press release. Though sadly even if these are released in China first the LTE tech would be useless in the US due to incompatibilities.
