RIM has gone ahead and published an interactive session catalog for the upcoming 2009 BlackBerry DevCon. The DevCon is from Nov 9-12th in San Francisco, CA and should be pretty exciting. I am hoping to attend myself but I am not sure if I will be able to make it. Still I think this is a great opportunity to see what RIM has in store for developers in 2010.
The last DevCon was also the first so RIM was just getting their feet wet. This year with RIM’s new push to welcome developers and many other efforts it should be pretty exciting. My sources are all pointing towards OS 5.0 being launched VERY SOON so hopefully the conference will cover the new opportunities that provides.
OS 5.0 will bring features like Widgets, SQLite, and many more API’s that should open a whole new door for BlackBerry development. I am also excited to see such sessions as:
Why Reinvent the Wheel? Sample Code and Utilities Available to the Developer Community
- Discover which samples are available and where to find them
- Learn how RIM is working to expand the range of available samples and utilities
- Offer your input on resources you’d like to see
I think it is important for RIM to share as much sample code to attract as many new developers as they can. The session catalog is pretty interesting even if you don’t plan on attending. Check it out at this link.
