Recently, I had some time to browse the Berryreview store when I found this new ‘Disco’ theme by idberry. I liked this theme immediately and thought I’d give it a try. From what I can tell, Disco is available for 8900 & 9000 devices. Alternatively, I did find this similar style theme for 8300/8700/8800 devices by BlackberryThemeSales in our store, at this link.
Upon first downloading this theme, I have noticed there is the issue of the menus (see below): the words are choppy and hard to read when not highlighted. Now there’s always the chance that this issue could just be happening on my device, but just to be sure I felt I should mention it anyway. Other than that, the overall theme seems to work well. I cannot say how the theme works for the 8900 since I don’t have that device to test it on.
As a final note, menu issues aside, this theme is not without its charm. On the main screen, the wallpaper is interchangeable (see my screen shot below) and the graphics are very sharp. Also, and to me this is the neatest feature, on the home screen to the bottom left, there is a round application icon ‘setting’. Whenever you move the trackball, it scrolls through (8) user customizable icons. So there is only one icon on the screen at any time, yet you can easily get to your main 8 apps in a jiffy.
Since this theme is available in our store and there may be some people who had considered purchasing it, I hope this review helps in some way. Hopefully, it will work perfectly for you. Disco theme (reg $4.99) is available for $3.99 until March 31st via the links below.

Looks like the theme designer needs to remove any outline color from the font on the menu items. That ought to fix the issue.

My first thought was anti-aliasing.

My first thought was doesn’t this dev test their themes before releasing them and charging for them, even at $3.99 the quality control sucks if this got out the door like that.
