Michael over at TechCrunch caught wind that Jott will be discontinuing their free voice to text service as of February 2nd. It was only in August that their service starting having any paid option at all. They claim that the terrible advertising market is forcing them to do this and remove their ad supported free version. This is sad news for the company since only 30% of users have opted to pay for the ad free premium version.
Jott also plans to add a voicemail to text service for the same price as competitors of about $10 for 40 messages. It is really starting to look like this once promising and innovative company is going the way of the wind by being more of a follower than a leader/innovator. I truly hope they prove me wrong but this current economy is effecting everybody.
