DECALGIRL – Pimp Your BlackBerry With A 15% Discount

DecalgirlnewstuffI know this site has been reviewed here before but I just couldn’t help adding my thoughts, especially since my own Curve needed some serious pimping. (seems like pimping isn’t just exclusive to Sidekicks anymore ;0)

If you’re not familiar with the site, DecalGirl.com offers skins for the Blackberry Pearl, Curve and 8800 (as well as a variety of other electronics). For the Curve alone, they now offer a choice of well over 100 skins (something like 140 is more accurate) in some of the most unique designs I’ve ever seen. And don’t let the name DecalGirl fool you, they have plenty of cool styles for both males and females a like. The great thing about these skins is they are easily removed without leaving any sticky residue. So you can change your skin as often as you change your hairstyle (hopefully that’s more than once per year).

Most Blackberry skins cost about $6.99 (Use promotion code PSPHOME to get 15% off). I am not sure where the discount originally came from but it does work. Ordering is easy with a credit card or Paypal account and skins usually ship within 1-2 business days. Since most skins come with a FREE matching wallpaper, be sure to look on your decal for instructions on how to go about downloading it.

I loved my experience with DecalGirl.com so much I even let my 8 year old son order one for his PSP (about $9.99). The only problem is that every day I have to hear him ask, “are my skins in yet, are my skins in yet?” which can get a little tiring – but then I just gaze upon my newly pimped Curve and all is well in the world again :0)

  1. I have to say I don’t really like the DecalGirl skins…I won one from BlackBerry Cool in their weekly contest (Thanks Simon lol) and when I got it and placed on my BB it was cool, it did what it was supposed to do…protect my device..now with that being said, it also did what it was designed to protect from…damage to my device…I had it on for a few weeks then decided I wasn’t really fussy about it any more and decided to remove it…low and behold upon removal it took spots of the “chrome” off of my curve where the BB logo is at the top, it’s almost as if it was too sticky and just pulled off the “chrome”..no most people may buy one and NEVER remove it, but let this be a warning as to what MAY happen if you do remove it.

  2. Just noticed that mine also removed ‘spots’ of chrome from the faceplate. Guess you could always forego putting the decal on that part of the BB. You can get replacement parts (if it gets too bad) at cnn.cn

  3. I love the skin for my pearl. I chose not to cover the blackberry logo on the chrome on the back.
We also ordered skins for our kiddos DS.
Easy to apply and definitely gives your device a custom look.

  4. the PSPHOME discount code doesnt work, probably expired now. Know of any others?

  5. To make sure that the chrome doesn’t ‘come off’, you can first use a hairdryer to ‘warm up’ the skin, before peeling it off.

It will make the removing process a lot easier too.

  6. Contrary to some of the above comments, I really like DecalGirl skins for my BlackBerry phones. So much I wrote an article with photos and animation:
