Latest FlyCast Version Adds Shoutcast Station Support

Developer: FlyCast Cost: Free

flycast[1]The latest version of FlyCast (1.3.2 & 1.3.3) add Shoutcast online radio support to FlyCast. This is a brilliant move by FlyCast since it opens the door to a ton of other online radio stations on your BlackBerry including some podcasts. The downside seems to be that the new version launches your BlackBerry browser for album art and artist information unlike previous versions that opened it inside the application.

I’m somewhat disappointed with this new release. I was relatively happy with the previous version, but now the font’s too large, even though I chose the correct version for my Bold. Also, I don’t know why none of these apps will give users the option of manually inputting a stream URL. It’s one of the things I really miss about using Windows Mobile and Resco Radio.

Guess it’s time to get the Touch Pro out of the desk drawer!
