Canada Fails At Innovation – Gets A “D” For Trying

They did not actually fail but they got a “D” which is the lowest grade given. I read this article on the Toronto Star because of the catchy title: “Canada as innovator? More lucky than smart

ReportcardTurns out that Nicole at the Toronto Sun really has a point. The BlackBerry may be very innovative but she says bluntly. “You would be hard pressed to think of another (Canadian) innovation.” All that came to my mind was “Canada Dry Ginger Ale”

Sadly Nicole seems to be on the money. Its worth a read if your interested in this kind of stuff.

On a side note I did learn that Canadian, Lewis Urry, invented the Alkaline battery back in 1959.
