QNX shared on their auto blog that RIM & QNX are sponsoring a program called EcoCAR 2 this year. The EcoCAR 2 program challenges 15 North American Universities to “create a greener car without compromising performance, safety, and consumer acceptibility.” This is part of the US Department of Energy and General Motors program to advance vehicle efficiency and RIM is enabling students this year with QNX. They are giving these students and university researchers full access to RIM’s top of the line QNX CAR app platform for their systems in this three year program. This year is the first year of the program and I am curious to see what the universities come up with.
