RIM Hiring Two JavaScript Developers in Ontario – Apply Now!

I know some other news outlets have been covering possible layoffs at RIM but Thorsten Heins has been clear that RIM is still hiring in departments working on BlackBerry 10. Adam Stanley from RIM’s developer relations team drove that point home this week by highlighting two new job openings for JavaScript developers out in Mississauga, Ontario. One is for a team lead for BlackBerry WebWorks and another is for a software developer for the WebKit engine.

Team Lead, BlackBerry WebWorks – Job Number 1202622

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will join the BlackBerry WebWorks R&D organization to lead a team of software technology experts to produce best of class JavaScript frameworks, simulators and tools. You will have a proven background acting as a development team lead and will have a solid understanding in a variety of Web technologies. You will have a demonstrated ability to handle people, technology and business issues with equal aptitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Team Lead in the BlackBerry WebWorks R&D group you will lead a team that contributes new features to a variety of web open source initiates. You will be expected to be familiar with all of the BlackBerry mobile web tools and platforms, and apply industry best practices to your daily work. The group has responsibility for a variety of products that cater to the web community and your familiarity with industry standard tools and practices will contribute to the vision of building superior products.

Software Developer, Web Runtime Engine – Job Number 1201964

POSITION SUMMARY
