NodeBeat Lets Anyone Create Music Visually on Their PlayBooks

Nodebeat NodeBeat2

RIM’s Senior Director of Open Source, @Pelegri, pointed out that NodeBeat has been ported to the PlayBook. The developer ported the open source crossplatform OpenFrameworks toolkit to the PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 to make this happen. This allowed the dev to bring his intuitive and fun visual music app for all ages to the PlayBook. It makes your music sound good and is built on some simple yet hard to explain principles. Here is how the developer explains the generation process:

Generators and Notes make up the two types of nodes. Generators pulse and play Notes within proximity. A Note is played in sequence, based on the distance it is from its connected Generator. Pause nodes to create your own beats or let them roam free to have them generate their own.
