Preview of Slacker Radio 4.0 On Demand!

I have to say I was really blown away by Slacker tonight. I walked up to their booth at an event and they started showing a whole new version of Slacker they called Slacker On Demand. This new version of Slacker brings a whole new overhauled application that has more features than the Slacker website! Talk about a sweet upgrade.

The main feature added in this version is a whole new service tier beyond the Plus $3.99 subscription. This new service will be called On Demand and will cost $9.99 a month. It will let you choose what songs you want to stream when you want them. That price tag is pretty high but it is a really cool feature that has yet to be pulled off right on the BlackBerry.

The new version also adds a whole slew of new upgrades that you can see in these pictures we took. My favorite is the ability to see what songs you have stared and a history of the songs you have listened to recently. The new On Demand version also adds a bunch of new features like creating your own playlist on the fly using music you choose. You can even have Slacker throw in related or similar songs.

In short the upgrades in this upcoming version of Slacker are mainly giving you tons of more options. I am not sure if the On Demand tier is for everybody but I was VERY impressed with the application. I cannot wait to get it on my Torch! The Slacker team let me know that this upcoming version is about a month away from release so we should hopefully have it soon. Slacker has really blown away the competition with this new update. It now has something for everybody and loads of music customization options instead of just 3 buttons and an advertisement.

Let me know if you have any questions and kudos to SLR toting David for taking the clear shots.
