TreadIt Adds A Pedometer to Your BlackBerry Torch or Storm

TreadIt I am surprised this didn’t come out sooner… VirtualViews let me know they have released TreadIt for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 along with the BlackBerry Storm and Storm2. TreadIt uses the built in accelerometer in these devices to count the steps you take while running or walking and then it can tell you the distance, time, speed, and calories burned.

The app works both in your pocket or a holster but it suffers from the same issues as any other pedometer which means you need to run or walk consistently. On the other hand it does throw in some cool features like stopping automatically when you stop walking and sending results via email.

If you don’t want a full fledged app like GPS logger you might want to check out TreadIt which is currently on sale for $2.99 (Reg $4.99) in the store with a free trial.
