BuddyGuard Beta Helps You Protect Your BlackBerry

BuddyGuard TerraMobility let us know about their latest project called BuddyGuard. The app is free during beta and helps you protect your BlackBerry and find it if you have misplaced it. The app lets you remotely wipe or lock your BlackBerry or make it play a tone so you can find it.

Check it out in the store at this link or this link on their website

Key Features:

  • Wipe: Remotely wipes contacts, email and phone log data from your BlackBerry.
  • Lock: Locks your BlackBerry to prevent unauthorized access. Protects your data without deleting it.
  • Alert: Assists in finding a misplaced phone by playing a tone, even if the phone is in silent or vibrate-only mode.
  • List: Emails a full listing of the data that would be removed by the Wipe command.
  • Help: Remotely receive a listing of the available commands.

BuddyGuard provides ease-of-use features such as:

  • Ability to verify what data will be removed by the Wipe command without having to actually delete the data.
  • Replies via SMS to acknowledge that commands are successfully executed.
  • Access to a listing of the commands both in the application (Help menu) and remotely (using the Help command).
  • Keeps the user informed whether the app is enabled based on the color of the app icon.
  • Single log in to the application.
  • Easy password recovery.

  1. Hi. I downloaded the BuddyGuard app to my blackberry phone a few days ago, but it never got “active” because after the installation, it appeared a message that said it could not be done because of some permissions, or something like that. The point was, it wasnt completed and it was never active.

Even though it wasnt completed, today I took the battery off from the blackberry, and when i putted it on, a message appeared saying:

“This phone has been reported as lost and has been remotely locked”
    “UNLOCK”

(But when i writte my password, it says it is a wrong password. I´ve tried a thousand different possible passwords, and NOTHING. Dont know if it has something to do to the non-finished installation, or something like that)

PLEASE! I´M DESPERATED! any ideas on how can I recover my password? or solve this probelm?

    THANKS
