DoubleTwist Offers iTunes Alternative With Amazon MP3 Store

DoubleTwist I have always felt that iTunes was developed as a collaborative effort between monkeys and aliens to kill my computer. I HATE having it on my computer and I cannot wait for the day when I no longer have to see that annoying popup every time they slyly try to convince me to install Bonjour or Safari. Don’t get me wrong I am writing this article on a MacBook (running XP in VMFusion) but I have patiently waited for an alternative to iTunes.

DoubleTwist has just released an slightly buggy application for the US that does just that. It integrates the simple and easy Amazon MP3 store into their application letting you quickly and easily purchase and sync songs to ANY device you wish. The app works seamlessly but it is a bit buggy for now. You will also notice in two seconds that the app looks EXACTLY like iTunes but runs so much smoother…

Sadly the software is Mac only for now with a Windows version coming soon. It is also currently limited to Amazons US MP3 store.

Check it out at www.doubletwist.com and let me know what you think!
