BlackBerry JDE 5.0 – Beta 3 Released

Join the Conversation »

It has been awhile since RIM released the BlackBerry Java Development Environment (JDE) 5.0 Beta back in the end of May. Jordan just let me know that they updated the JDE to version 5.0 Beta 3 so things are getting that much closer to a final gold build. As Kevin reminded us all RIM is promising to deliver OS 5.0 by the end of the year so hopefully they are not waiting for new years eve.

It is available for download at this link on BlackBerry.com

The really frustrating part for developers is the uncertainty of OS 5.0’s release. If it is going to be released in October then they need to put all their efforts into supporting it. On the other hand if it is scheduled for later in the year then they might have better things to do…

The feature list for JDE 5.0 looks pretty impressive and I can’t wait to see what developers do with it!
