Now this is a bit of a conundrum. Engadget got a hold of a spec sheet showing that the BlackBerry 8520 will launch on August 5th. That is not far off from the August 1st I have been hearing from a few sources. It also fits in perfectly with the launch parties we told you about starting July 20th and going for 2 weeks. The document also shows that it will be a Walmart exclusive until October 5th.
I am not sure if this means that Walmart is going to have a prepaid BlackBerry 8520 but that might make sense. Otherwise maybe they just managed to snag an exclusive on T-Mobile’s low end BlackBerry.
On the other hand maybe RIM is working on a super secret low end 8520 just for kids after a child asked for one at the general shareholders meeting this past Tuesday.
