Submit OS & Development Bugs to RIM Using Developer Issue Tracker

A bit back we mentioned that RIM released a Developer Issue Tracker system that let developers submit bugs directly and see the status of all bugs currently under review. At first the system had a few bugs itself and not much content. Now more than a month later things are picking up.

bugissuetrackerYou can submit bugs in these categories:

  • BES APIs
  • BIS Infrastructure
  • Documentation
  • Java API
  • Plazmic
  • Tools
  • Web API

What is SHOCKING is that there are no outstanding bugs under the Plazmic category. I know that there are a ton of bugs in the Plazmic composer so I wonder why nobody has bothered reporting them.

I have also reported my own bug as of today. I have always been annoyed that as of OS 4.6+ the textareas where you enter text in a website do not wrap when you reach the end of the box. It just continues in one long line. For example, when you leave a comment on BerryReview from your BlackBerry it will not wrap the comment for you. This did wrap in OS 4.5 and earlier… You can comment on my bug here. (Free Login Required)

The amazing part of this system is that RIM immediately accepted my bug and assigned it to a named resource. I also get the email address of the resource assigned!

Check it out at this link and start submitting those bugs!!!
