R-Vintage: Free App Looks Up Wine Vintage Ratings

r_vintage_logo Kyle over at BBCool spotted this niche market application called R-Vintage that I thought was worth mentioning. It is a free app from REGARD that is meant to help wine enthusiasts looks up a bottles rating. You can look up a vintage rating by country, region and varietal which helps narrow down the search. Not really my cup of tea since I will drink practically any decent red wine but I know a few people that would find this invaluable.

You can read more at this link or download the app OTA at this link.

From the description:

This free version provides static lookup back to the year 2000. In addition to numeric ratings, the user receives a Drink/Hold recommendation vintage by vintage. A premium version will be released soon to provide dynamic lookup and other must-have features for wine lovers.

  • Significantly increase the odds of picking a better bottle
  • Peek at your BlackBerry and surprise your friends with your insight
  • Understanding the price difference from year to year

REGARD created R-Grapevine Vintage Lookup because "Life is too short to drink bad wine!"
