Sprint/Nextel To Layoff 8,000 Employees
I already have trouble getting a competent customer service rep at Sprint and it does not look like things are going to get better. Sprint has needed to clean up shop for awhile now and just announced that due to financial difficulties it will be laying off 8,000 employees and cutting current employee benefits to save $1.2 billion dollars.
Since they lost 1.3 million subscribers in the third quarter of 2008 things are not looking so good for Sprint. They really showed some promise with fast EVDO and WiMax so I really hope they manage to turn things around. On the other hand their rising administrative fees along with their ETF settlement do not look promising for customer retention.
So anybody want to join me in saying a little prayer for Sprint?
