Gmail Issues Yesterday Due To Expired SSL Certificate
July 30th, 2008 by Ronen Halevy
I was having some issues with my Gmail (BIS) account yesterday and finally figured out what was happening. Google forgot to renew their SSL certificate for Gmail. This caused most of the mail clients that connect to Gmail to throw up red flags. I wonder who is getting the flack about this at Google…
GigaOM managed to score a screenshot of the expired certificate. Its interesting to note that even the largest of companies can screw up on the smallest things.
