RIM Creates New IM Homepage – AOL IM 2.0 For Sprint 8130
Josep just sent me a link to a new portal on RIM’s website for all the native RIM Instant Messaging applications. The applications are still restricted to specific carriers by service books but if your carrier does support them the links are now all in one place.
I also noticed on the AOL Instant Messenger page there is a link for Sprint subscribers only to download a new version 2.0 of AOL Instant Messenger. (Notice the screenshot on left) The new version seems to be restricted to the Sprint 8130 Pearl but I would be interested in seeing some screenshots
.
I really wish AT&T would get off their high horse and deliver the service books for these IM clients. The fact that all they can think about is fees they will get from the OZ SMS IM client is just annoying. It would not cost them much more to implement these applications that are already developed by RIM.
