Charge & Backup Your BlackBerry With Linux

If you are not a Linux user you can ignore this post =) Otherwise… I was looking for a solution for using my BlackBerry in Ubuntu and found this wonderful free project called Bcharge which allows you to Backup and charge your BlackBerry from your Linux desktop. Since I am not a Linux guru I will just link to the websites I found and the directions I followed for this to work. Keep in mind that these directions are for version .1 and .2 of Bcharge even though the current release is version .8 but they still worked. I wanted to say thanks to Net Direct Open Solutions for releasing Bcharge for free!

I tried the Barry project with no luck.
The thing that worked for me made no sense whatsoever, but it works (Ubuntu 8.04 and 9.04) and I’m not questioning it:
    sudo apt-get libwxgtk-2.8.0

Hope it works for you too!

    Good luck!
