T-Mobile has finally released its [email protected] service for two of their wifi enabled phones. For those who don’t know, [email protected] allows you to make calls over wifi on the cheap when you are near a T-mobile [email protected] router. They offer an unlimited nationwide plan for $9.99 a month. As of now they only offer the service with two compatible cellphones. The Nokia 6086 and Samsung T409, neither of which are smartphones.
This is hopefully a precursor of [email protected] support coming to BlackBerry devices. I have been watching T-mobile closely on this new service especially since reception in my Manhattan apartment is shoddy even with AT&T. This will greatly help T-mobile in making up for spotty service in buildings and homes. I am hoping that T-mobile will release one of the upcoming wifi BlackBerry devices with [email protected] support. Here is to wishing that T-mobile will provide a BlackBerry solution soon.
