Starting last year Todd Wood, SVP Design at RIM, has shared sporadic details about the design process at RIM. His latest addition is a short interview with Donny from the official BlackBerry blog. In it Todd discusses the design process from RIM’s 3Ds of design (Definition, Development and Delivery) to consumer panels. One of Wood’s personal inspiration sources is the Milan Furniture Fair in April where designers show off their designs from around the world.
One of the other interesting facts shared by Wood was that recent customer feedback has shown the importance of design up top with the fundamentals of internet access on smartphones. It is followed by the importance of the display and keyboard choice.
