Televisa Derportes Now Available For the BlackBerry PlayBook

IMG_00000047

Over the last two years I seen an increase support from Spanish/Latino media for the BlackBerry platform. The Televisa group is a Mexican multimedia company one of the largest in Latin America, and now they have launched a slick looking application for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Univision is the largest Latino T.V network in the US and it was one of the first to offer their Sports application for sports aficionados around this time last year.

One of the really interesting things about their application is the fact that they took their time to also provide the user with a short user guide that includes gestures to get the most out of the app.  The home page includes the latest sports news, if you swipe down the app brings a carrousel that allows you to switch between video content, Fútbol  (Soccer), News, and a picture gallery.

The app loads content pretty fast including videos and it plays within a popup window within the app, and pictures load fast you can swipe to browse the image galleries. If they could only integrate live streaming of major sporting events that would be cool, though the PlayBook can stream live video directly from the websites.

NOTE: The app is only in Spanish and offers news about all the major sports.

Download the app for free at the following link.
