Facebook v2.0 Now Available For 5.0 Devices and Bug Fixes for Existing Users

If you are a user of devices with OS 5.0 and have been waiting to get your hands on Facebook chat for BlackBerry the update to the official app is now available. You can download the application at this LINK. Note that if you don’t have a Beta Zone account you need to create one. The new v 2.0.0.19 is available for both 6.0 devices and 5.0.

From the beta zone release notes

Bug fixes for Facebook 2.0.0.19 include:

  • The Facebook Chat connection error that some users were experiencing.
    Instances where some users would lose their cursor while scrolling the News Feed.
  • Instances where a red ‘X’ would appear on a Chat message even though the message successfully sent.
  • And finally, we have improved the loading time of the Online Contacts list.

    • Facebook for BlackBerry 2.0 includes the following new features:

  • Brand-New UI
  • Facebook Chat
  • Improved News Feed
  • Drop-Down Navigation Grid
  • “Today View” of new notifications
  • New Profile UI and Profile Information Viewing
  • Ribbon View of external notifications (e.g. BBM messages)
