I was asked by Nadia, a Berryreview reader, to review one of the ‘girly’ themes in our store. Since I am always happy to review a theme for a reader, I readily obliged. Nadia gave me a few to choose from (they were all girly), so I picked Sweet Cupcakes by Ale7714 Designs. Though I do like girly themes, I wasn’t initially attracted to this theme. However, once I loaded it onto my BlackBerry, I really have to admit I took a liking to it. It offers a complete ‘themed’ design along with nice transitions and high quality graphics. If I were the designer, I would have colored the unopened message icons and some notifiers to match the theme more (instead of the default yellow color) and would have also used the same funky font in the messages listing as they used in the menu fonts…but that’s just my opinion.
I did notice on the messages list that the individual email listings seemed to get squished a little (see screen shot right). I did a reboot and the issue was still there. Not major but it’s a review, so I need to be honest. Other than that, I saw no issue with this theme on my 9700.
Sweet Cupcakes is available for basically all BlackBerry devices which is impressive. There’s obviously a lot of time that went into the making of this theme. It only sells for $3.95 which I would say is fair for the theme’s quality of style and ease of use. So Nadia, I hope this gives you an idea of how the theme works.
Sweet Cupcakes can be purchased in our Berryreview Store.
