Yahoo Releases Free Y! Fantasy Football ‘09 App

I have never used Yahoo’s fantasy football service but I know people who are addicted to it. Doug let me know that Yahoo has released a free app for their Fantasy Football service in the App World. While Y! Fan did this for awhile it costs $3.99 compared to this free option. The app lets you monitor your team from your BlackBerry by letting you do everything from check league and player stats to making changes to your roster.

Features include:

  • Live Scoring: Free this year!  Follow your team as the games happen – in real time.
  • Roster Management: Quarterback injured?  No problem.  Bench him and start your backup right from your phone.
  • Add and drop players: No longer happy with your running back?  Simple.  Drop him from your team and search for a new one.
  • Matchups: Not sure who you play next week?  No need to stop what you’re doing, just grab your BlackBerry and check.

Check it out in the App World at this link and let us know what you think. The app is pretty big at 750+KB but if you plan on using it then its worth a download.

  2. This looks like a nice app. To bad I am not using Yahoo for my fantasy football at this point. Now maybe ESPN will do the same thing. That would be nice.

  3. At least I can manage my nfl.com team (if I had one) through the Sprint NFL Mobile App. That is a nice touch to the app.
