I recently switched from a Z10 to a Z30. I’ve been enjoying much better battery life, a bigger screen, and sweet stereo sound. As I have wanted to show off my new hardware to family and friends I went to my videos stored on my micro SD card. I have 9 movies that I purchased from BlackBerry World back when they had those crazy $0.99 sales. To my horror, none of them worked anymore due to the error below.
I had never seen this before and I had no idea how to fix it or get around it. I searched the BB Community Support Forums and found no help there. I sent an email to the always helpful BerryReview Team and my good buddy G found this forum post on the CrackBerry Forums that helped solve my problem. It also happened to be a well timed revelation since it looks like the video licenses expire on Jan 1, 2015. I haven’t confirmed this yet but didn’t want to take any chances. I had forgotten that I could still access my videos on BlackBerry World by going to My World and selecting My Video.
After that, it’s as easy as tapping the download button to the right of each movie. Since I had all but 2 of the movies already stored on my micro SD card, it only took a few seconds for the new license to be downloaded. The other 2 movies downloaded again and all of them now play flawlessly.
I hope this is helpful to some others out there who might have run into the same issue. Let me know in the comments!
