xsacha of Sachesi fame has just published an interesting new online service called Bar Download.
It allows you to download free apps from BlackBerry World straight from any browser.
- Browse BlackBerry World until you find the app you want to download
- Copy the address you see in the browser (URL field)
- Paste the address in the “Application ID” field on the Bar Download page
- Click Submit and you will be presented with a link
- Click on the link to download the file and make sure you rename it so that the extension is .bar. You browser will want to download it as a .txt or .zip file.
That’s it, you will now have a bar file which you can quickly install on all your devices via a tool such as Sachesi or DBBT.
A couple of important notes
- The Authorization field has to be left empty for now, until xsacha finds a way for you to generate your own. That means you’re using his BBID to download apps.
- You’re not allowed to redistribute the bar files that you download.
