BlackBerry just won the first round in a ruling late last week against Ryan Seacrest’s Typo iPhone keyboard. The US District Judge William Orrick in San Francisco confirmed that BlackBerry will probably win the case in their infringement claims against Typo. He dismissed Typo’s claim that a temporary sales ban would put them out of business. The judge wrote that: “BlackBerry has convincingly shown that BlackBerry’s keyboard designs are a key driver of demand and goodwill for BlackBerry phones.”
